Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to you as the new President of the Society for Neo-Latin Studies in the United Kingdom (http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/arts/ren/snls/), since, given that we are interested in the same material, just based in different countries, it might make sense to get in touch.
Our Society (SNLS) already has a number of affiliations with other societies with similar interest. Therefore we were wondering whether you would be interested in such a relationship? This basically means that each society posts a link to the other’s website on their own website (ours is currently a bit out of date and in the process of being updated) and informing the other about calls for papers and other initiatives. Would that be of interest to you?
Of course we would also be open to any other ideas and suggestions you might have. In any rate, it would be nice to get to know each other and collaborate more closely.
Thank you for considering this suggestion. We look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Gesine Manuwald
(Professor of Latin, UCL; President, SNLS)
Dear Colleague,
thank you so much for your message. I’ve just posted a link to the SNLS’s website on the frontpage of our own website (in the category ‘Liens’). I will ask one of my colleagues to send you by email a PDF file containing the newest informations of our Society. We would be very glad to stay informed about your activities.
Best regards
Laure Hermand-Schebat (Maître de conférences en latin, Université de Lyon, Webmaster SEMEN-L)
